WINES PRODUCED BY ECOLOGICAL AGRICULTURE
ORGANIC FARMING
Considered for many years as a strange occupation practised by a few eccentric individuals, organic farming has undergone a significant rise in popularity in recent times.
Once the idea of being fashionable was overcome, the population in general have gradually become aware that that scrupulous respect for the land and its produce not only increases their healthy nature, but also endows them with quality. This has given rise to farms that limit or completely eliminate any products that may harm the overall environment and, more specifically, the land and the particular produce in question.
This spreading awareness that land poisoned and saturated with chemical products can not yield healthy or gastronomically viable crops has given rise to a demand for products obtained through organic farming methods, which in turn has prompted the government over the past decade to regulate and establish the conditions needed to describe particular farming methods as organic.

OUR VINEYARDS
The different varieties of grape planted in our vineyards enable us to create the range of wines detailed below:
1.- Tempranillo:
Our top variety. The richness of these grapes enables us to produce red wines that age beautifully. For producing rosé wine, we use the youngest vines combined with Garnacha grapes.
This native Spanish vine is widely used in the peninsula and yields fine wines, pleasant tasting and perfumed to the nose. Specifically in our region, we obtain wines with great character and structure, ideal for ageing in oak casks.
2.- Garnacha:
Because of its late ripening, this variety does not adapt very easily to this area, so it is planted in dry, stony ground and we limit its production with the aim of bringing the fruit to full ripeness, and obtaining a fresh and fruity rosé wine.
3.- Merlot:
This is a French variety that is rapidly becoming very popular in this country. Used in very small proportions, it gives a light fruity touch and the flavour of wild berries to our crianza wines.
4.- Viura:
This variety is of Spanish origin. It produces wines rich in alcohol, with fruity overtones and a straw yellow colour. In order to obtain earlier ripening, we limit its production and work with short pruning and strict production controls.
5.- Verdejo:
This is a variety from the Castilla-Leon region, with a designation of origin known as Rueda and perfectly adapted to our homeland. It produces a fresh and fruity wine that complements our own Viura.
